Cotton Candy is a colorful abstract display of beautifully soft pastels selected from the one-of-a-kind, free-flowing sunlit color palettes captured while I’m photographing and enjoying nearby flower gardens.
The Local County Fair
As I was developing this artwork piece, I just couldn’t help but think about the fluffy pink cotton candy that was so popular at the county fairgrounds each year when I was a kid.
It Was So Much Fun!
From the hustle and bustle of all the fun rides whirling around to different types of attention-getting sounds and popular music, to the excitement of lighthearted shrieks and laughter from all who were brave enough to enjoy the fast rides, to the enticing mix of aromas emanating from the various food vendors, it was a great time to be had indeed.
Aiming For Prizes
Adding to the excitement of the county fair were the rows of carnival booths that offered hand-to-eye coordination and aiming challenges, with each booth having its own challenge variation, for a chance to win your choice of toy prizes or stuffed animals varying in size depending on how well you did on the challenge. The better you did, the bigger the prize!
A Sweet Treat
While other sweets were available, the perennial favorite for many fairgoers was the fluffy, pastel pink, melt-in-your-mouth cotton candy lightly spun around a hand-held paper cone! What a time it was, before all the electronics and gadgetry, when real fun could be had in your own hometown at the local fairgrounds!
